BCSO: Elderly convicted murderer arrested for parole violation

Marie Reilly, 86, accused of assaulting man with knife

SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County sheriff's deputies arrested convicted murderer Marie Reilly, 86, Sunday morning for a parole violation.

Deputies responded to a report of a family disturbance at a home in the 7900 block of Morning Grove in East Bexar County. Reilly said her grandchild and another person were getting into an argument.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said deputies were familiar with Reilly after having been called to her home recently when she was accused of assaulting a man with a knife. That incident led to her parole being revoked and a warrant issued for her arrest.

Reilly was convicted in 2006 for the 1989 murder of her former employer. The Sheriff's Office said Reilly was working as a maid for an elderly woman named Jayne Hays. Reilly was fired after Hays suspected her of stealing money.

Reilly was sentenced to 20 years in prison for Hays' murder. She was on parole when she was arrested Sunday morning.
