Legendary rodeo clown back home after trip to ICU

Leon Coffee complained of chest pains Saturday in Cuero


SAN ANTONIO – Well-known rodeo clown Leon Coffee is resting at home Sunday night after a trip to the ICU.

Coffee was at a rodeo in Cuero Saturday night when he began experiencing chest pains.

A family friend said he was taken to an emergency room and placed in the ICU. Unable to keep him under their watchful eye, doctors let Coffee go home with orders to rest and drink plenty of fluids.

Coffee has been a staple at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo for the last 30 years.
