McDonald's manager throws coffee at robber

Police are searching for a man who robbed a McDonald's at 4422 W. Commerce St. on July 20.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the robber, who was armed with a pink Taser, jumped over the counter into the employee's area.

An employee behind the counter told police the man was firing the Taser at employees and demanded that she give him money.

The manager of the store told police she was in the back of the store about to do a money pickup when she heard a scream and saw the robber coming at her. The manager then threw the bag of money into a car that was at the drive-thru window and yelled at the person in the drive-thru to, "Go, get out of here.

The manager said as she turned around she was standing face-to-face with the suspect, so she grabbed a pot of black coffee and threw it in the direction of the robber.

Police said the robber then ran out of the restaurant headed south and got into a vehicle waiting at 4200 Buena Vista Street.

Anyone with any information about the robbery or the man's identity is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 224-7867.
