Sculley to propose increased entry wages for city workers

SA city manager to recommend $13 per hour for lowest entry wage

SAN ANTONIO – City Manager Sheryl Sculley plans to recommend that the lowest entry wage for full-time and part-time city employees be increased to $13 per hour.

Currently, the lowest entry wage for employees is $11.47 per hour.

Sculley came up with the proposal after City Council members asked city staff to look into the matter.

The idea will be included in Sculley's Fiscal Year 2016 Proposed Budget to the council on Aug. 6.

If the council approves the increase, the wage increase will be effective Jan. 1, 2016.
