New Braunfels police ID probable drowning victim

Body of Tereso de Jesus Zeta-Ortega found Tuesday morning

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – The New Braunfels Police Department identified Tereso de Jesus Zeta-Ortega, 37, as the man whose body was found Tuesday morning in the Guadalupe River.

Zeta-Ortega, of New Braunfels, was found in the river at about 11 a.m. by a group of tubers near the 1400 block of Sleepy Hollow.

Police said his death is under investigation, but preliminary autopsy results indicate no signs of foul play.

The autopsy shows Zeta-Ortega died of an accidental drowning.
