Fire engulfs NW Side home

SAN ANTONIO – A fire destroyed a home on the city’s Northwest Side early Saturday morning.

Fire officials were called to a home in the 6200 block of Crab Orchard around 2 a.m. to find a home completely engulfed in flames.

Arson investigators believe the blaze started in the home’s garage and quickly spread to the rest of the house.

It took at least 40 firemen to battle the flames. There were no reports of any injuries, but fire crews did rescue one puppy from the home.

The house was ruled a total loss.
