Shooting victim asks for help at convenience store

SAN ANTONIO – A victim of a shooting on the city's Southeast Side made a request at a local convenience store when he entered the premises asking for help.

The shooting occurred at 8:53 p.m. Sunday night at an apartment complex in the area of Pecan Valley Road and East Southcross.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the 49-year old victim drove to a nearby gas station where he asked for help. Officers at the scene said the victim's injuries were not life-threatening, but he was taken to University Hospital where he is presently in stable condition.

SAPD did not release information about the shooter. The investigation is ongoing.
