LUFKIN, Texas (AP) – A missing East Texas man who was the subject of a Silver Alert for medical reasons has died in a one-vehicle accident.
The Texas Department of Public Safety on Wednesday identified the victim as 68-year-old Marvin Louis Price of Tyler. Relatives say Price had Alzheimer's disease.
Smith County officials on Tuesday morning issued a Silver Alert to be on the lookout for Price and an SUV he was driving.
A DPS statement says the SUV crashed Tuesday night about 4 miles north of Lufkin. The vehicle left the road, striking a culvert, a utility pole and a fence. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
Price in early August was also the subject of a Silver Alert, issued in Smith County, but he was found safe in Leon County.
