SA man admits to stealing diamond to pay for wife's medical bills

SAN ANTONIO – A local jewelry store employee is facing theft charges after admitting he took a $3,000 diamond from work.

Police said Bruce Bradshaw Runyan, 44, gave out fake refunds when he worked at Kay Jewelers at a store in San Antonio and in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Runyan told investigators he stole the diamond because he needed money to pay for his wife's medical bills.

The diamond has been returned to the store.
