UPDATED: Severe weather cancels, delays weekend events

Heavy rain, flash flooding expected across South Texas

SAN ANTONIO – Several weekend events in San Antonio have been canceled or delayed because of severe weather and flooding across South Texas. Here is an updated list. 

  • Halloween event at Guadalupe River State Park, scheduled for Sunday Oct. 25, has been canceled due to weather.
  • St. Margaret Mary School Carnival will be rescheduling to Nov. 1 from 1-7 p.m. due to the weather.
  • The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Fall Festival has been rescheduled for Sunday November 22, 2015. The Raffle drawing has also been postponed until Nov. 22.
  • The Bandera Music Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony for SundayOct 25 has been postponed. A new date will be announced soon.
  • Dark Mayhem Halloween Adventures at Victoria's Black Swan Inn has been postponed until Oct. 30. 
  • Luminaria has been canceled by event organizers. There is no rescheduled date at this time.
  • All Southwest ISD campuses will close at noon. Any events currently in progress will be stopped at noon. 
  • University of the Incarnate Word football game has been canceled for Saturday and rescheduled to tomorrow at 2pm. 
  • Classes canceled on San Antonio campus of Our Lady of the Lake University. Saturday classes have been canceled on the San Antonio campus of Our Lady of the Lake University.
  • Ballet San Antonio Nutcracker rehearsals for Saturday are canceled due to weather.
  • Due to the weather, the 2nd Annual Food, Fitness & Film Festival scheduled for Saturday from 10am to 2pm at Resolute Health Hospital in New Braunfels has been canceled. 
  • Pearl announced Saturday's Pearl Farmers Market has been canceled due to inclement weather. The market will resume tomorrow, October 25, for the Sunday market from 10-2pm.
  • NEISD middle school volleyball tournament scheduled for today at Harris and Lopez middle schools is cancelled. 
  • Major cancelations for Southside ISD: The Special Olympics Volleyball Competition scheduled for today, Oct 24th, is CANCELED per Special Olympics. Southside ISD will keep you posted in coming days if it will be rescheduled.
  • Also from Southside ISD: ACTS Testing has also been canceled today and we will let you know on the new dates and times. Big 16 championship conference for football and volleyball was also canceled. THIS WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULED.
  • 470th Military Intelligence Brigade Fall Fest scheduled for Saturday is canceled. It has been rescheduled for October 29th.
  • Due to weather the VITA Volunteer Breakfast has been canceled. We will be contacting volunteers if rescheduled.
  • All games and Picture Day at the Miracle League of SA are canceled.
  • The Transplants for Children Halloween Festival hosted by University Transplant Center at University Hospital is postponed for Saturday. Will reschedule at later date.
  • An art event featuring fine art and contemporary craft at the Shops at La Cantera Art Festival has been canceled. A jazz brunch scheduled for Sunday, however, will go on as scheduled -- rain or shine.
  • The San Antonio Botanical Garden has canceled its BOOtanica celebration. The event has been rescheduled for Sunday, Nov. 1.
  • Luminaria organizers said on Wednesday that despite the dreary forecast, the show will go on. But it will be a scaled-down event, with only projects that can be showcased inside or outside safely. Dozens of artists' displays have been scrapped.
  • SAWS WaterSaver Landscape Tour (Sat. 9 a.m - 3 p.m.) canceled due to heavy rain forecast. To be rescheduled spring 2016.
  • San Antonio Founders' Day Celebration at the Alamo. This event was scheduled for Saturday but has been canceled.
  • The city of Leon Valley has canceled their Fall Festival after reviewing weather projections for Saturday Oct. 24.
  • 2015 StMU 5K for the Neighborhood -- scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday. Will cancel if there is lightening or flooding. Run will go ahead if there is just rain. Check for updates online.
  • San Antonio Heart and Stroke Walk scheduled for Saturday has been postponed. The walk will be rescheduled for a later date.
  • Southwest ISD Middle School events are canceled for Saturday.
  • Pecan Fest in Seguin -- outdoor events canceled for Saturday.
  • San Antonio Scorpions match vs. New York Cosmos has been rescheduled from Saturday to 1 p.m. Sunday. All tickets purchased for Saturday's game will be valid for the game on Sunday.
  • UIL Area Marching Band Contest -- 12 of the 16 Area Marching Band Contests for Saturday are being rescheduled. Click here for more information.
  • Edgewood ISD -- All athletic events scheduled in Edgewood ISD for Saturday have been canceled. Friday’s game at Edgewood Veterans Stadium is still scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
