New Braunfels police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that happened Sunday just after 1 a.m.
Police say a man was crossing West San Antonio Street when he was hit by a black newer-model truck, possibly a Chevy 1500 or a Toyota Tundra. That truck was last seen driving on Hill Avenue.

First responders found the man, 24, unconscious but breathing. He was airlifted to San Antonio Military Medical Center where he later died.
The victim is from Austin and has been identified, but hit next of kin has yet to be notified. If you know anything about the accident, you are asked to call New Braunfels police at 830-221-4100.
