Man killed in Seguin house fire identified

Raymond A. Medellin, 45, found dead in home Friday


SEGUIN, Texas – Raymond A. Medellin, 45, has been identified as the man killed early Friday morning in a house fire in Seguin.

Officials with the city of Seguin are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine Medillin's cause of death, according to a statement.

The city said firefighters responded to the home around 5:30 a.m. Friday.

Medellin's parents, who lived with their son, were able to get out of the home and told firefighters Medellin was still inside.

The city said fire crews found Medellin dead in the back of the home.

Medellin's death was the first fire-related death in Seguin since 2012. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
