HOUSTON – A mother was forced to throw her children, while others jumped from the upper floors of an apartment complex, during a massive three-alarm fire in Northwest Harris County in Houston.

At least ten people, including a 15-month-old and a teen were taken to the hospital  with non-life-threatening injuries, according to KSAT 12's sister station, KPRC.

The Cypress Fair Fire Department was called Wednesday just before 3:30 a.m. to the Villages of Copperfield Apartments in the 8700 block of Point Park Drive. Crews were met with flames and high smoke. It took more than two hours to gain control of the fire. A neighboring building was also damaged.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
