Train derails on city's South Side

No injuries reported in derailment near South Presa, Hot Wells Boulevard

SAN ANTONIO – A Union Pacific train derailed early Friday on the city's South Side.

Police said the train, which was carrying coal, was headed for a CPS Energy plant when four cars left the tracks around 12:30 a.m. near South Presa and Hot Wells Boulevard.

No injuries were reported.

There was no immediate word on what caused the accident.
