Jail inmate's death ruled homicide

Sheriff's office launches criminal investigation into death of Robert Mosley

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's office has ruled the death of a Bexar County Jail inmate a homicide.

Robert Mosley, 54, died July 26 at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital from complications related to detoxification, sheriff's officials said.

Sheriff's office spokesman James Keith said a criminal investigation has been launched to determine if there was any wrongdoing. But Keith said he didn't believe Mosley's death was caused by any wrongdoing by any employees or other inmates.

Mosley was placed in jail on July 22 on DWI charges, BCSO said.
