Baby not injured; man shot in the leg

SAN ANTONIO – A man was shot while holding an 18-month-old baby Tuesday morning on the city's Northwest Side.

Police said the baby was OK. The man was taken to University Hospital for a leg wound.

The man had picked up the baby from the back seat of his car when two men called him over to another car, police said. The men opened fire, and the victim turned around and ran with the baby in his arms.

The shooting happened at 10:30 a.m. at the Woodlawn Ranch Apartments in the 300 block of West Cheryl.

The men remain on the loose and could be in a silver or blue car, police said.
