SAN ANTONIO – Tuesday is the deadline for shipping packages with the US Postal Service in order for them to arrive by Christmas.
You can still ship after Tuesday, but will then have to pay extra for expedited shipping to get them there on time.
The Postal Service expects to ship more than 600 million packages during the holiday season.
Workers at the main San Antonio Post Office on Perrin Beitel Road expect to handle to handle 12 million pieces of mail on Tuesday -- the busiest shipping day of the year and the deadline for Christmas delivery through standard post.
UPS has set a Christmas deadline for regular holiday shipping this Friday.
- Dec. 15 for Standard Post
- Dec. 19 for First Class Mail
- Dec. 21 for Priority Mail
- Dec. 23 for Priority Mail Express
