SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner's office has identified Lloyd Stahl, 88, as the man killed in a fire Monday morning.
Firefighters responded around 3 a.m. to the home in the 500 block of Viendo Street but were delayed in accessing the home because of burglar bars on the windows.

"The burglar bars, not only did they hamper (the victims) from getting out, but I've got to take a crew and put that crew to taking the burglar bars off,” SAFD Battalion Chief Walter Yates said.
Stahl's 74-year-old wife and 47-year-old daughter escaped the fire.
