Feast to feed thousands of residents

H-E-B on Wednesday kicked off its 23rd annual Feast Of Sharing with an invitation to San Antonio residents.

The grocery chain wants residents to join in the holiday fun Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

Meals on Wheels celebrated the start of the holiday season Wednesday by preparing a special meal for about 3,800 seniors who can't leave their homes.

The feast will feature turkey with stuffing and gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, a sweet cream cheese empanada and a dinner roll.

H-E-B is expecting about 15,000 people for the holiday event. In addition to the food, there will also be music, arts and crafts, activities for the kids plus an appearance from Santa Claus.
