Credit card breaches reported at Landry's-owned restaurants

The company has nine San Antonio locations

HOUSTON – Landry's, Inc. announced that it has received reports of credit card security breaches at its popular restaurant chains.

The company has several restaurants in San Antonio, including The Saltgrass Steakhouse, Morton's, Landry's, The Rainforest Cafe and the Tower of the Americas.

The company said the reports detailed unauthorized charges on some payment cards used at its restaurants. Landry's said it has implemented system changes to increase card security.

A statement read in part, "We immediately began an investigation after receiving these reports and have engaged a leading cybersecurity company to investigate this matter. We are also working with our processor and payment card networks. We want to assure our customers that protecting their payment card information is a top priority and are working non-stop to complete the investigation."

The company is encouraging customers to review their bank accounts and report any unauthorized charges.

Landry's did not specify when the alleged fraud occurred or which restaurants were affected.

The company owns popular chains like Landry's Seafood, McCormick & Schmick's, Rainforest Cafe, Morton's, Bubba Gump and Saltgrass Steakhouse.

The company also owns the Golden Nugget hotels and casinos.
