Driver plows into utility pole on Northeast Side

Residents lost power briefly, power has since been returned to area

SAN ANTONIO – Northeast residents briefly lost power overnight after a driver plowed into a utility pole.

The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. on Perrin Beitel Road near Avenida Prima Street on the city's Northeast Side.

San Antonio police said a woman lost control of her car and went over a curb and flipped, before cutting a telephone pole in half.

The woman was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Power has since been returned to the area.
