Riverwalk draining to begin Monday

The project is expected to finish in five days

SAN ANTONIO – For the first time in five years the city of San Antonio will send crews down to the Riverwalk to drain and clean one of the most visited spots in the state.

Officials said the maintenance is critical to the upkeep of the river.

In both 2010 and 2011 over 1 million gallons of waste was removed.

The project is expected to take about five days to complete.
