SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio's Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) said 17 drop-off locations will be available on Saturday Jan. 9 and on Sunday Jan. 10 for residents to recycle their live Christmas trees.

The locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

San Antonio residents are encouraged to help keep the community clean by not illegally dumping trees before the sites open and not placing them at the curb.

SWMD said residents may recycle a tree in a green organics cart as long as it completely fits in the cart with the lid closed.

You may also recycle their Christmas tree at the Bitters Brush Recycling Facility, 1800 Bitters Road, or the Nelson Gardens Brush Recycling Facility, 8963 Nelson Rd, through the end of January during their regular business hours if you are unable to visit on the selected dates.

For more information on the site locations, visit www.sanantonio.gov/swmd.

You can also obtain information on SWMD’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/SASOLIDWASTE or call 3-1-1.
