SAN ANTONIO – A 50-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the stomach Tuesday night on the West Side.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. at a convenience store in the 1500 block of Castroville Road.
Police responded to a report of a shooting and when they got there, they found one man had been hit several times in the stomach.
Police said the victim and another man, who was not injured, were hanging out in front of the store when the shooting happened.
"A small compact car arrived and the passenger exited the vehicle and fired at the two intoxicated males there on the curb in front of the convenient store," SAPD Sgt. Rudolpho Lopez said.
Lopez said they are looking for two people right now, the shooter and the driver of the getaway car.
Right now, Lopez said it's not clear whether the victim was targeted or if this was a random shooting.
He said the victim was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.
