SAN ANTONIO – A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a stabbing on the city's West Side.

Police said Austin Joseph Ray Burford, 19, is accused of stabbing an 18-year-old man inside a car around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday on Manor Creek, near Loop 1604 and Potranco Road.

Police said the victim escaped and ran to a nearby house to call for help.

The victim said Burford drove past as he was explaining to police what happened. He pointed out the car to officers, who tracked down Burford and arrested him.

The victim was in stable condition when he was taken to University Hospital.
