Woman who died after car overturned in creek identified

Collision sent vehicle into creek on Southeast Side

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County medical examiner has identified Ellen Palomo Kraus, 57, as the woman killed earlier this week when her car overturned in a creek.

Police are investigating the circumstance of the a two-vehicle collision, which sent Kraus's car into a creek Monday afternoon.

The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of New Sulphur Springs Road, near Loop 410 on the city's Southeast Side.

People driving by helped Kraus out of her car. She was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where she died.

The other driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and has not been charged.
