Nurse with ties to SA arrested for sexual contact with patients

Thomas Mark Moore, 43, faces charges in Colorado


FORT COLLINS, Colorado – A registered nurse who has previously worked in San Antonio was arrested in Colorado on charges he touched patients under his care.

Thomas Mark Moore, 43, was arrested Dec. 21, 2015, for unlawful sexual contact, Fort Collins police said.

Details weren't available on the police department's website, but it did say "several female victims have reported that Moore sexually touched them while they were under his care in hospitals or emergency rooms."

Police said Moore worked at medical centers from 2008-2015. One of those included San Antonio's CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital. CHRISTUS Santa Rosa released a statement clarifying Moore’s duties.

Moore worked at the Westover Hills hospital for 13 weeks as a “traveler” nurse in 2012. According to the hospital, traveler nurses work in temporary positions and referred from recruitment agencies. Moore worked began working at for CHRISTUS on March 12.

A spokesperson with the hospital said the vendor that who into the hospital ran several background checks including screenings for: drugs, felonies, misdemeanors, verification of his nursing license and a check through the National Sex Offender Registry. CHRISTUS' HR Department also ran two additional background checks, all records came back clear.

No patients, associates or families have lodged a complaint about Moore’s conduct.   

Police listed seven other health care facilities in Colorado and one in Nebraska as places Moore worked between 2008-2015 during that time.
