FBI: Man, 20, tried to enter Fort Sam with pot

Jaime Montanaro could get 5-year prison sentence

SAN ANTONIO – A 20-year-old man was arrested after he tried to enter Fort Sam Houston with marijuana, according to the FBI.

The FBI said Jaime Montanaro, who turned 20 while in federal custody, was arrested Friday night while in possession of marijuana.

He was taken into custody after an officer smelled pot inside the vehicle.

A source said Montanaro admitted to having pot inside the car, and it appeared he may have already distributed some of it before his arrest. A gun was also found in the car.

Montanaro was charged possession with intent to distribute less than 50 kilograms.

If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
