Finished with a time of 1:32:56

ELKMONT, Ala. –  A bloodhound is making headlines around the country after she accidentally ran a half marathon and finished in seventh place.

The dog named Ludivine escaped her backyard and ended up at the starting line of the Elkmont Half Marathon in Alabama.

The dog trotted along with runners for the entire 13.1 miles.

She competed without a human or leash and finished in seventh place with a time of 1:32:56.

Her owner, who is not a runner, didn't even know about her celebrity dog until a friend called and filled her in.

Ludivine was presented with a finisher's medal for her accomplishment and then went home and took a long nap.

Organizers say next year's race will be renamed "The Hounddog Half" and a special prize will be given to seventh place.
