Fugitive featured on KSAT-12 turns himself in to jail

Omar Perez, 28, free on $75,000 bond


SAN ANTONIO – A fugitive featured on KSAT-12 Jan. 19 turned himself in to authorities a few days later.

Omar Perez, 28, was wanted for a charge of sexual assault. A spokesman for the US Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force said Perez surrendered at the Bexar County Magistrates Office Friday.

Officers had been looking for Perez since September 2015 after he was indicted for sexual assault.

His case is set for trial April 29.
