Driver on I-35 hits NBPD patrol car

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – An officer using his patrol car to warn drivers on Interstate 35 of an accident got into one of his own when the driver of another vehicle hit his cruiser.

The New Braunfels Police Department posted a picture on its Facebook page.

The accident happened on the southbound lanes of I-35 Friday morning.

Luckily the officer was not inside his car at the time and the other driver was not injured.

State law requires drivers to either slow down or move over if they see fire, police, EMS, tow trucks or TxDOT vehicles with their emergency lights on.
