San Antonio police have responded to the home 84 times since August of last year. The calls included 25 disturbances, five of which involved a gun and one with a knife.

SAPD Sgt. Jesse Salame said Brown was supposed to meet a friend, but he never showed up.

Neighbors told police that they heard an argument and gunshots in the middle of the night, but police weren't called until a friend found Brown dead Wednesday afternoon.

Gennie Brown, Winfrey Brown's mother, arrived at the home on Wednesday as police were investigating. She said she was coming to check on her son, because he lost his phone, and she couldn't reach him.

She said she wanted to make sure he didn't miss a meeting with his probation officer.

"They went to his house, and his door was open," Gennie Brown said. "So whoever done this, they knew him, he knew them."

As of Friday, no arrest have been made in Winfrey Brown's killing.
