More than $4M in narcotics seized near border

Cocaine, herin seized at Laredo Port of Entry


LAREDO, Texas – The U.S. Customs and Border Patrol seized more than $4 million in cocaine and heroin Tuesday at the World Trade Bridge at the Laredo Port of Entry.

According to CBP, a tractor-trailer hauling a commercial shipment of ceramic tile was found by a K-9 and inspection by officers to be carrying 121 packages allegedly containing 171 pounds of cocaine and 126 pounds of heroin.

CBP officers said the narcotics had an estimated street value of $4,182,600.

The drugs were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation.
