Manfred Fritz Bajorat, 59, was found Friday in his broken-down yacht. Bajorat was a German adventurer who hadn’t been seen since 2009.

Fishermen discovered the mummified body when they were inspecting the yacht because of a broken sail.

Christopher Rivas y Escarten, 23, and his friends dragged the yacht to Barobo, Surigao del Sur, in the Philippines, after finding Bajorat’s body inside.

A forensic criminologist suggested that based on the way he was sitting; Bajorat may have died from a heart attack, reported German newspaper BILD.

According to Huffingtonpost.com, Bajorat split from his wife in 2008. She frequently traveled with the explorer prior to their breakup.
