Cibolo PD: Donations stolen from Crosspoint Fellowship Church

Unknown amount taken over the weekend

SCHERTZ, Texas – No one at Crosspoint Fellowship Church was willing to be interviewed about the weekend theft of an unknown amount of monetary donations from an offering box, which is now under investigation by the Cibolo Police Department.

Lt. Chris Kotzur, the department’s spokesman, said the theft occurred sometime after Sunday services, and it was discovered the following morning.

“One of the offering boxes was broken into and everything was gone out of it,” Kotzur said.

Kotzur said the box was located in a hallway between the church office and the youth area.

He said according to the church, the box held mostly cash and a few checks.

Kotzur said members of the congregation who are concerned their checks may have been stolen, are asked to contact the church first before calling their financial institution.

He said Crosspoint staff will be able to tell them if their checks are missing.

The church also is updating its Facebook page with information for church members.

Kotzur said he urges anyone who knows what happened to contact Cibolo police at 210-659-1999 or 210-619-1200, or Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers at 830-303-TIPS.
