Woman tells police shooting was an accident

SAN ANTONIO – A woman is in custody accused of killing her boyfriend on the city's South Side, San Antonio police said Thursday.

The shooting occurred just before 1 a.m. in the 100 block of West Ansley Street, found near Pleasanton Road and Moursund Boulevard.

Police said the woman claims the shooting was an accident. 

When police arrived they found a woman inside the house with the gun still in her hand. The woman told police at the scene she shot her boyfriend accidentally.

Police said they found the man dead with a gunshot wound.

The name of the victim has not been released. 

The investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is ongoing.
