SAN ANTONIO – A barbecue pit stolen from Sam Houston High School was recovered Wednesday in a vacant lot.

The district said the grill was spotted by two men cutting grass in the 1200 block of Virginia.

One of them remembered seeing the story on the news and called police.

The pit was mainly used for band fundraisers.

The school's band director said it was built by the school's welding department and is worth more than $5,000.
