Man arrested for graffiti on Hays Street Bridge

Man admitted to 'tagging' crew name on bridge

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department received a call at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday about a man creating graffiti on the Hays Street Bridge at Hays and Chestnut streets.

Police found a man who had several cans of spray paint and fresh paint on him.

The East Property Crimes unit identified the man, who admitted to "tagging" his crew name on the bridge.

San Antonio officials said the bridge is a public monument and estimated the damage amount to be over $2,500.

The man was charged with graffiti of a public monument, which is a felony.
