Seguin police release sketch of person of interest in man's death

Gumaro Castaneda-Escatel found dead under bridge Tuesday

SEGUIN, Texas – The Seguin Police Department on Friday released a sketch of a person of interest sought in connection with the death of a man found dead under bridge earlier this week.

Gumaro Castaneda-Escatel was found dead Tuesday under the Guadalupe River bridge south of town on Highway 123. Police are investigating his death as a homicide.

The sketch pictured above is of a Hispanic man police said might have seen and talked with the victim. He is believed to have short, dark hair and tattoos on his chest, neck and possibly on his face. He is said to be between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weigh between 160-180 pounds.

He is believed to be with a white woman slim in appearance with shoulder-length hair.

Police said the pair are thought to be in a red Mazda car with a possible hatchback body style.

Earlier in the week, police said they were looking for a black dually pickup and white Ford F-150 in connection with the death.

Anyone with information is asked to call Seguin police at 830-379-2123.
