Bexar County voters to cast ballots Saturday

Texas House seat, city offices, school board elections on ballot

SAN ANTONIO – Voters in Bexar County will head to the polls Saturday.

The biggest race on the ballot is the special election for Texas House District 120 to replace Rep. Ruth Jones McClendon, who retired after serving in the Texas House since 1996.

Candidates hoping to replace the Democrat are LaTronda Darnell, a consultant; Chris Dawkins, a marketing specialist; Lou Miller, an insurance agent and Laura Thompson, a freelance writer.

The following municipalities will hold an election for city offices and/or propositions:

  • Castle Hills
  • China Grove
  • Fair Oaks
  • Grey Forest
  • Hill Country Village
  • Hollywood Park
  • Kirby
  • Shavano Park
  • Somerset
  • Universal City

Voters in three public school districts will be headed to the polls. The North East Independent School District will be holding an election for two trustees. Judson ISD and East Central ISD will be holding bond elections.

Elections will also be held for Alamo Community College District, Bexar County Emergency Services District and San Antonio Municipal Utility District.
