Man with 'poor hygiene' sought in San Marcos sexual assault

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Hays County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday released an updated sketch of a man sought in connection with a sexual assault. The new sketch, pictured above, offers a front-facing view of the man.

The Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in tracking down the man wanted in connection with a sexual assault in San Marcos.

Officials said a 22-year-old woman was drinking at a bar around 3 a.m. May 6 when she got sick, stepped outside and began vomiting.

She was approached by a man who asked if she needed help, authorities said. He then pulled her into his car and drove to an unknown location.

The Sheriff's Office said the man dropped the woman off at a home in San Marcos and left. The woman, who had blacked out, said she woke up and realized she had been assaulted.

The man is between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs between 120-135 pounds. The woman also told authorities the man, pictured in a sketch above, had very poor hygiene.

Hays County Crime Stoppers (800-324-8477) is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information can also call the Hays County Sheriff’s Office at 512-393-7896. Callers can remain anonymous.
