2 arrested in aggravated robbery at New Braunfels park

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Two people wanted in connection with an aggravated robbery in New Braunfels have been arrested.

Sherley Garcia-Grullon, 19, of Arlington and Jason Lara Jr., 18, of Odessa were arrested.

The robbery happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday at Haymarket Park in the 700 block of Comal Avenue.

New Braunfels police said a 17-year-old male victim was parked next to a blue Jeep Liberty with several people inside.

An argument erupted between the victim and the people in the Jeep over ownership of a cellphone.

Police said one of the occupants of the Jeep entered the back seat of the victim's car and displayed a knife.

The person threatened the victim before demanding the cellphone in question. The assailants took the cellphone and fled.

New Braunfels police were alerted and the suspects were found at the Rodeway Inn Hotel in the 1200 block of I-35 North.
