2 men sought in Family Dollar armed robbery

Crime Stoppers offers up to $5,000 in reward money for info leading to arrest

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for two men suspected in the robbery of a North Side Family Dollar Store.

Officers said the men (pictured above) walked into the Family Dollar at 2929 West Ave. around 4 p.m. on Saturday.

An employee told police one of the men held a small handgun to her stomach and demanded her to open the store safe. When she said she did not have access to the safe, the other man retrieved another employee from the back of the store and made that person open the safe.

The pair took an undisclosed amount of cash and ran out of the store. They drove away in a small, red sedan with paper plates -- police said it may have been a Chevrolet Malibu.

Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. The number to call is 210-224-STOP (7867). Callers are not required to give their names.
