3 big rig accidents cause traffic issues overnight

Accidents all occurred on Interstate 35 due to bad weather

SAN ANTONIO – Three 18-wheelers were involved in traffic accidents overnight due to inclement weather, San Antonio police said Wednesday.

The accidents all occurred on Interstate 35 near Loop 410 South.

Police said a big rig's fuel tank was punctured when one of them overturned late Tuesday.

Roughly a mile down the road police said, another 18-wheeler also overturned. It is not known at this time what caused that big rig to fall over. A third was blown over by very powerful winds early Wednesday, police said.

None of the drivers were hurt in the accidents.

Traffic slowed each time as emergency response crews worked the scene.

All lanes on Interstate 35 have since reopened.
