Electrical box likely to blame for fire at North Side bar

Fire is second in area in less than 24 hours

SAN ANTONIO – For the second time in less than 24 hours, San Antonio firefighters found themselves at the scene of a business fire on the city's near North Side.

They said the latest fire erupted around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday outside Fresno Bar. However, when they arrived at the business, located on Fresno Street east of Interstate 10, the fire had already begun to spread to the interior.

Firefighters said the fire caused less than $10,000 in damage. They suspected it may have started in an electrical box on the back side of the building. However, arson investigators were called in to make sure there was nothing suspicious about it.

On Tuesday morning, firefighters battled a fire just a few doors down, on the property of Laden Pools. It damaged a building that houses an apartment and some offices.

Arson investigators were called to investigate the cause of that fire, too.
