SAN ANTONIO – Luis Trevino, 25, is believed to be the man captured by surveillance cameras during a robbery at a West Side convenience store. San Antonio police have arrested him in connection with that crime as well as an aggravated robbery at a nearby bakery.
They said a tip called in to their Crime Stoppers line help them identify Trevino.
An arrest warrant affidavit stated that police aired the images on local TV stations after someone robbed a clerk at Save and Smile Food Mart on Enrique Barrera Parkway June 18.
They said the man in the surveillance photos had made a purchase first, then pulled out a gun and demanded cash from the register.
On June 22, a man, using the same approach, robbed a worker at La Popular Bakery in the 4200 block of Culebra Road, the affidavit stated.
Police said after the photos aired on TV, they received a tip identifying Trevino as the man who was caught on camera.
The affidavit stated that investigators later put Trevino's mug shot into a photo lineup and one of the victims identified him as the man who robbed him.
Trevino was booked into the Bexar County jail Wednesday on two counts of aggravated robbery.
