Man arrested after stabbing father, police say

Presley Reade Polhamus claims self-defense

SAN ANTONIO – An 18-year-old man was arrested Thursday night after he stabbed his father during an argument, police said.

Police arrived around 11 p.m. at a home in the 12100 block of Vista Nogal and found the victim with several stab wounds to his chest and neck. He was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.

The victim's son, Presley Reade Polhamus, was sitting with a woman in a car in front of the home, police said.

Polhamus claimed that he stabbed his father in self-defense, but police doubt his story.

"His claim for self-defense and based on what the victim is telling us, and what the witness is telling us, still doesn't really add up," said San Antonio police spokesman Doug Greene. "And so the detectives feel like they have enough information here to discount that claim."

Polhamus was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in the Bexar County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.
