President Obama will cut his European trip short and visit Dallas early next week. This comes after Thursday night's shootings left four Dallas police officers and one DART officer dead, plus seven other officers wounded. || On Friday morning, some of the San Antonio community showed its heartfelt support for the San Antonio Police Department. Community members have been leaving cards with well wishes and food for officers at the San Antonio Police Department's north substation. || The 100 Club of San Antonio is preparing for their annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser in the wake of the Dallas police officer shootings. This year's fundraiser has even more meaning following the attack on officers in Dallas. || Texas restaurant chain Bill Miller BBQ is offering a free meal to all law enforcement officers on Friday in response to Thursday’s deadly shootings in Dallas. The Facebook post has more than 4,000 shares.

THURSDAY

The San Antonio Spurs are about to lose another key big man as Boban Marjanovic has agreed to a deal with the Detroit Pistons. Marjanovic averaged 5.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game last season for the Spurs and quickly became a fan favorite. || An email exchange between Bexar County Sheriff’s Office chiefs and Sheriff Susan Pamerleau details a familiar problem within the department: a lack of manpower at the jail. || New guidelines have been released to help diagnose, treat and cure aspergillosis, a dangerous fungal infection that targets weakened immune systems. Dr. Tom Patterson, the head of infectious diseases at the UT Medicine Health Science Center, was among a group of national experts who developed the guidelines. Patterson said the actual fungus known as aspergillus is in the air.

MONDAY

HOT! HOT! HOT! A heat advisory is in effect for several counties until 7 p.m. Tuesday. Drink plenty of water, y’all! || With the help of a regional fireworks company manager, Bexar County sheriff’s detectives arrested a man Monday who they suspect stole fireworks valued at $35,000 from an Alamo Fireworks stand in the 11000 block of Potranco Road. || An overnight shooting at a popular New Braunfels park left two people charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The 24-year-old unidentified suspected shooter is accused of firing a total of 19 shots at several Fort Hood soldiers. Luckily, no one was injured.

Back, but in black?

Manu Ginobili announced on his personal blog that he will return for another NBA season. “The most important news to tell you is I am determined to continue playing in the NBA. Did not have many doubts, but as I recently wanted to let a little time and see the season went from a little further,” the guard wrote on his personal blog. Though an unrestricted free agent, the Spurs fan-favorite is expected to return to the Silver and Black.

Train derailment

A train derailed in Southwest Bexar County Sunday afternoon. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said the train was carrying 60,000 gallons of a caustic substance. There were no injuries nor evacuations.

Happy birthday, America

Honey, no one ever looked so good at 240 years old. If you and your family are looking for even across San Antonio, we’ve got you covered. For the fourth year, more than 170 volunteers on Saturday planted thousands of American flags along Northwest Military Drive to celebrate the Fourth of July. The flags are lined on both sides of the road from Loop 410 to Camp Bullis. It is quite the sight and a great tribute.

#Pride2016, San Antonio edition

Thousands turned out Saturday for the LGBT Pride Festival and Parade near downtown San Antonio. The event was held less than a month after the mass shooting at an LBGT nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Several clubs and organization, including USAA, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Tennis Club of San Antonio participated for the first time.
