Mario Martinez, 39, has been arrested following chase

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police said thanks to a surveillance photo they have arrested a suspect in a liquor store robbery.

Mario Martinez, 39, has been arrested and taken into custody following a short chase Tuesday.

According to the arrest affidavit, a surveillance photo of the getaway car showing the license plate provided the information needed to solve the case.

Police said by using the license plate number they found Martinez, the man they believe robbed workers at a Don's and Ben's liquor store in the 8300 block of Culebra Road on July 11 using a sawed off shotgun.

Investigators said when they stopped the car they found Martinez inside the vehicle and the sawed off shotgun inside the trunk.
