3 arrested for string of robberies, carjackings, police say

SAPD: Suspects stole vehicle in 1300 block of Gardina Street

SAN ANTONIO – Three people have been arrested Friday morning following a string of robberies and carjackings, San Antonio police said.

According to officer Doug Greene, the San Antonio Police Department spokesman, the three suspects stole a vehicle Thursday from a man in the 1300 block of Gardina Street located on the city's Northwest Side.

Police said the victim was washing his car when he noticed a gray van in the parking lot. That's when, police said, the van pulled up to him pointed a gun and demanded the car. The suspects then drove off with both vehicles, police said.

An hour later helicopters helped to find the trio in the stolen gray van, Greene said.

SWAT attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle intentionally crashed into a marked unit and drove around the car, Greene said.

The suspects were taken into custody without further incident.

The suspects are now charged with aggravated robbery and criminal mischief.

Police believe the three suspects may have also been involved in four other robberies as well.

Bexar County officials released the mug shot of one of the suspects, Jessica Suarez, 20, Friday afternoon. She's charged with theft.
